HeadRush will be starting construction on our $80 million dollar expansion during the summer of 2007. The expansion will include an Indoor Waterpark joined with a 200 room Hotel, Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant, Indoor BMX, Skateboarding, Motocross, Go Carts and a retail store that will house hard goods, soft goods and the latest in action sports clothing.
The first phase of the construction timeline will be the Quaker Steak and Lube restaurant. Quaker Steak and Lube started in 1974 and currently has over 20 restaurants through out seven states. The restaurant will have a décor all of its own with early muscle cars, vintage trucks, and a barrage of antique motorcycles. “The Lube” as it’s now known has won over 100 awards nationally and internationally for its 16 sauce recipes.
The HeadRush expansion will begin shortly after the Quaker Steak and Lube this summer. The expansion will include Indoor Skateboarding, BMX, Go Carts and a huge retail store all under one roof! The skatepark will be the first indoor park in Syracuse and will include a variety of jumps, ramps and rails over an 11,000 sq ft area. The BMX dirt track will keep riders riding all year long and will be the biggest area in the HR expansion measuring in at 25,000 sq. ft. A unique twist in the action sports aspect of our park will be the indoor Go Cart track. The track will be 100% indoors and will be used with electric carts that provide racers with a great race atmosphere without the noise and fumes of the gas carts. HeadRush will be the first to combine all of these great sports at one location creating a synergy unparallel in the action sports industry!
The Indoor Waterpark known as the Maya Experience will begin construction thereafter. The Maya Experience will be designed to look like Mayan temples measuring over 4 stories high. The waterslides will begin indoors and then exit the sides of the temples before returning inside at the end of the ride. This will create a unique look along with adding more room for additional slides and attractions. The waterpark will include a lazy river, surf machine, restaurants, games and more.
